Andrew Nature Play Area Guide
Andrews Nature Play Area
Established in 2023, The Andrews Nature Play Area is a state-of-the-art playground in the Brecksville Reservation. It is located right next to the Harriet Keeler Memorial Picnic Area, making it the perfect complementary activity during family gatherings, summer camps, picnicking, or just an evening trip to the park.
Unlike many playgrounds with only swingsets and slides, the Brecksville Reservation playground has numerous obstacles and activities for kids ages 2 – 12.
The most popular playground activity is the bouldering wall and stump obstacle course. While simple and short, it is safe for all ages, and I have seen my kids spend an hour playing different types of games and challenges in this section.
Another fantastic part of the play area is the ropes course. This entertaining area allows children of all ages to safely navigate the rope course as part of the playground experience and use it as part of their other obstacle adventures.
Finally, all good playgrounds come with a swing set and slide, and Andrews Nature Play Area is no different. Equipped with two baby swings and two children’s swings, you can bring children of all ages!
Not only this, but the slide is a kid’s favorite, and you don’t have to worry about injury or dangers because of how smooth and short it is. Best of all, there are numerous park benches you can relax on while you watch your children have a fantastic time.
Expert Tip
Like most places in the Brecksville Reservation, the Andrews Nature Play Area gets extremely crowded on weekends and during summer days when camp and educational programs use the facility.
If you want to avoid the crowds while still having a fantastic experience, I recommend visiting on weeknights after dinner or on weekends during the morning or late evening. You are almost guaranteed to have the playground if you visit then.
In addition, visiting in the spring, fall, and even warmer winter days will make it a pleasurable experience for adults and kids alike.
